Mancher Leser hat vielleicht schon bemerkt, dass das Twitter-Widget an der Seite verschwunden ist. Das liegt daran, dass ich meine beiden (auch den zweiten recht neuen) Twitter-Accounts gelöscht habe.
Wie viel Twitter der Verbreitung des Missionsgedankens gebracht hat, werde ich wohl erst beim Jüngsten Gericht erfahren. Ich fürchte, recht wenig. Allerdings weiß ich jetzt schon, dass Twitter nicht ganz ungefährlich ist, und darum habe ich einen Schlussstrich gezogen. Ich möchte nicht ständig auf der Hut sein müssen, ob ich jetzt von den Personen (darunter natürlich vor allem Katholiken), denen ich folge, irgendetwas präsentiert bekomme, was man sich nicht ansehen sollte.
Da Twitter nur funktioniert, wenn man anderen Leuten auch folgt, sich das genannte Problem aber nicht kontrollieren lässt, wenn man einer größeren Zahl von Accounts folgt, habe ich entschieden, die Reißleine zu ziehen. Vieles ist nebenbei reine Zeitverschwendung.
Der liebe Gott kann auch ohne Twitter die Missionsliebe in den Herzen der Menschen entzünden.
PS: Ich wollte gerade diesen Post tweeten, bis ich gemerkt habe, dass ich nicht mehr bei Twitter bin ;-)
Please come back to twitter, I loved your account. I know it may seem hard to get a following, and the only way to get a following to follow lots of accounts. This is not true, I follow 33 people, and have 880 following me. What is 880, not a lot, but according to my analytics 100,000 people are seeing my tweets a month. Please come back on twitter persevere, it takes years to get a following, but good content like yours gets a following. As for seeing lewd tweets, follow small number of people, and if you want followers just 'like' tweets from a variety of people, and reply to tweets of people with over 1000 followers, get involved in conversations. These are my tips.

Thank you, Catholic Sat, that's really kind of you. It wasn't about numbers, it was really about not being able to control what you see on Twitter. Many tweets are simply immodest or impure and even Catholics succumb to the temptation of tweeting such things just to get their point across. After seeing pictures of someone engaging in mortal sin against the sixth commandment on Twitter, I decided to call it quits. I think this is a decision that I will not walk back on unless things change drastically on Twitter, which I don't expect.
